Yrsa Larsen 70, of 180 Summer St., Bradford, passed away Saturday (Jan. 3, 2015) at her residence.
Born Jan. 24, 1944, in Karlslunde, Denmark, she is the daughter of Greta Molin Larsen of Bradford and the late Niels Edward Larsen, who died Dec. 30, 1988.
Yrsa was a 1962 graduate of Bradford High School.
She began her career at Bradford Hospital in the radiology department and retired after 30 years of service. She continued to work for eight years at the Tin Ceiling Gift Shoppe.
She loved shopping, interior decorating and supporting the efforts of the SPCA. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and lifelong friends.
Surviving is one daughter, Kristina (Jim) Case of Bradford; Yrsa's long-time companion, Charles Fair of Bradford; four grandchildren, Alec and Andrew Kuzmeskas and Kortny and Timothy Case; and one uncle and several cousins back in Denmark.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 372 East Main St., where funeral and committal services will immediately follow with the Rev. Mike McAvoy, pastor of the Open Arms Community Church, officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the SPCA, P.O. Box 113, Bradford, PA 16701; the Bradford Hospital Auxiliary; or a charity of the donor's choice.

I am so sorry for just now of receiving the news--words can't express the way I feel but I will always remember all the "childhood" fun we use to have and the trouble we got into--another part of my past has gone--but will remain in my heart forever--

You were my best friend for over 30 years, and we shared both a million smiles and a million tears. We struggled through raising our girls together and watching them become beautiful women. We loved shopping and "fine dining" from burgers to filets. I think we were often like Lucy and Ethel, but you were obviously the redhead with class and grace. We disagreed often, but loved each other honestly. I will always be grateful for having you in my life.

Yrsa, the years have separated us, but we were raised as "cousins". So, so sorry to hear of your passing. Haven't told my 92 year old Mom, Ruth Larsen yet, but she will so mourn that "little red-headed girl". To all her family and friends, Jim and I send our most heartfelt condolences.
