To All the Family,
As a former neighbor on Windmill, I will miss her VW about town. As the former director of Our Place in BF, I called upon your mom when we were putting the the warming shelter together in BF 2 years ago. Her unending persuasion, passion and energy that night was wonderful. "We are all in this together as neighbors, friends and family..."
She has left a place in many hearts and her passing has left a huge hole in our community. Melinda, your work is done may others will learn from your legacy and continue on. May you rest in peace...

Dear Sarah and family.I am so sorry for your loss, Melinda was a wonderful human being in so many ways, she always put others before herself and I am willing to bet that sometimes when she helped folks, it was coming out of her own pocket. Saw firsthand the need for more services and she started the Drop In Center where a homeless person could get a hot meal and be able to take a shower and wash their clothes, a family struggling to make ends meet could get a food basket and above all, folks have been treated with dignity and grace, whatever the need was, Melinda would try to meet the needs. I remember asking for help once myself and she came through and I was so grateful, a couple of times, when I could I would volunteer answering phones and greeting people and it was quite humbling.

Melinda was a support that we needed when we wanted
to open a food pantry in Guilford. She offered advice
and always always her smiles.

To the Family, Extended Family, Friends and those she cared for,
My heart was struck down when I heard of Melinda's Passing! I go way back to when she was married to Fred and knew the go getter attitude she always had.
My deepest Condolences, thoughts and Prayers to each of you as you mourn this deep valley of loss. She was a doer and a real Trooper in her caring, loving and helping especially those in need. Her service to the Greater Brattleboro Area was far above "The Call of Duty" and out weighed by her Love of Serving.
I will miss our Daily Chats at the Post Office as she passed by to pick up the daily mail. I will never forget that my first week returning to work the week before, after being out for 5 months on Medical Leave that she was the "First" to come by, giving me that special hug and welcoming me back!

All Is Well
Death is nothing at all,
I have only slipped into the next room
I am I and you are you
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used
Put no difference in your tone,
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household world that it always was,
Let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It it the same as it ever was, there is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near,
Just around the corner.
All is well.
