Benancio Gonzalez Obituary

Benancio Gonzalez, 75, passed away Monday, October 11, 2010 at Solara Hospital in Brownsville, Texas. He worked for Brownsville Navigation District for 30 years. He was married to his wife, Eduviges Gonzalez for 46 years. He would always give his time and knowledge to those who needed it and appreciated it. Everyone that met him, loved him. He enjoyed having cookouts for his family and loved to go fishing in his backyard, and he never missed a day in buying his lotto tickets. Some of his favorite phrases for his grandchildren were, "hey boy" and "shut up girl."

He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Angel Gonzalez; mother, Guadalupe Sanchez; wife, Eduviges Gonzalez; and son, Arnoldo Gonzalez.

He is survived by Alicia Olvera (Jose Luis Olvera), Jose Antonio Gonzalez (Cindy), Diana Gonzalez, Flor Estela Spence (Robert), Benancio Gonzalez, Jr. (Hilda C. Gonzalez), and Oralia Gonzalez; 15 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.

Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Cathedral, 1218 E. Jefferson St., Brownsville, Texas.

Interment to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be, Hilda Delia Gonzalez, Randy Dierlam, Joseph Gonzalez, Jose Angel Gonzalez, Benancio Gonzalez III, Christopher Olvera and Delbert Garcia.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, cemetery and mausoleum. 125 McDavitt Blvd., Brownsville, Tx 78521 (956) 541-5400. Dignity Memorial Provider.

Cuando un ser querido se duerme en la muerte, sentimos un inmenso dolor, pero gracias a la maravillosa esperanza que Jehova Dios nos da, de volverlos a ver de nuevo en un futuro muy cercano, nos llena de alegria. Jesucristo lo dijo en Juan 5: 28 y 29. Familia Gonzalez. Sentimos mucho su perdida y esperamos que estas palabras de Jesus, les fortalezcan.
