JOAQUIN MURRIETA Obituary
He is preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Maria Valdez; and a brother, Luis Jaime Valdez.
He is survived by his children: Mary Alice (Richard) Marquez, Gabrielle Valdez and Mireya Valdez; brothers: Miguel, Jaime and Joe Valdez; his sisters: Irma, Teresa, Guadalupe and Ninfa Valdez; and his four grandchildren: Andrea Alicia Marquez, Estrella Mia Marquez, Adrien Gabrielle Mendoza and Zoey Danielle Mendoza. He is also survived by numerous family members.
Visitation is scheduled from 1 p.m.-9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013. A chapel service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Funeral services have been entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Brownsville, 657 Springmart Blvd., (956) 350-8485.

He was the best grandpa ever and i know hes in heaven a place with no pain and sufferings a place i'm glad hes safe and life wont be the same without him but we'll always have a smile on our face knowing hes watching out for us! i love and miss you!

Mi mas sincero pesane a la familia. Era un gran amigo de El Borrado y mi compadre Juan Garza. Descansa en paz un gran amigo y un gran artista que puso en alto a las de mas generaciones con todas sus peliculas y musica en la epoca de oro. Con artistas mexicanos como los hermanos Alamada, Pedro Infante Jr, Rigoberto Rosales, y Noe Murayama tambien Ruben Benavides y Los Tigeres Del Norte. Buen viaje amigo.
