Eileen Walter Obituary
CRESTLINE: Esther Eileen Walter, 96, of Crestline, died Wednesday, January 4, 2017.
Eileen was born in Crestline, on March 2, 1920 to the late Emil H. and Clara B. (Fetter) Fisher. She married Carl H. Walter on June 2, 1946 and he preceded her in death on August 22, 1995.
Eileen graduated from Leesville High School. She was a very active member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Leesville. Eileen sang in the choir, directed the Youth Choir, and taught Sunday School for many years. Both she and Carl were involved in activities in Vernon Township and enjoyed collecting Roseville Pottery.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Walukonis of Stow, her grandson, Ryan (Amneh) Walukonis, her great-grandchildren, Xavier and Everett Walukonis, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Edward Walukonis, her brother Virgil Fisher and her twin brother, Chester Eugene Fisher.
Friends may call Monday, January 9, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at the St. John's Lutheran Church, 6783 Leesville Road, Crestline, with Pastor Richard Genzman officiating. Burial will follow in Dapper Cemetery, Crestline.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or the charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
The Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 West Main St., Crestline is honored to serve the family of Eileen Walter.

I just learned that Eileen passed away and is now rejoicing with her Lord. She was a resident of Emeritus, now Brookdale, in Stow. She and I would talk about music. She was in the choir at Brookdale. I loved singing with her. I loved her stories about when she was in the choir that recorded the album, when she was a church choir director and organist. She knew my dad Harley who was the greeter at Emeritus. She encouraged me to talk about my dad. She was a wonderful person who loved her family deeply. I will think of her every Christmas. I loved her stories about the family riding in the wagon to go Christmas caroling. I am so sorry for your loss.

I am Sherry, from Brookdale, please accept my condolences. I will miss her and all her wonderful stories of her and the families history, of working together on the farm . She used to make my day so much more pleasant when she would talk about children, grand and great grand children. Family was everything to her, she was so proud of them all. She is missed greatly
