Megan Lynn Knabel
LOUISVILLE, KY: Megan Lynn Knabel, 14, was born October 31st , 1996 and passed away Thursday, October 27, 2011.
Megan was a student at Churchill Park School in Louisville, Kentucky. Megan was the sweetest little girl who communicated her love with her beautiful eyes. To be loved in return was her greatest wish. Megan enjoyed going to school, the Home of the Innocents and being around her siblings. She was known as the Queen and pink was her favorite color.
Megan is survived by her parents Tom and Shannon (Steiner); a brother Max 12; four sisters, Olivia 10, Anna 8, Emily 6 and Lucy 3; and her great grandmother Laverne Chalfin, Bucyrus, OH; grandfather Lawrence Knabel; and grandparents Glenn and Linda Steiner Bucyrus, OH; aunts and uncles David (Elena) Knabel, Michael (Wendy) Knabel, Steven (Nancy) Knabel, James (Dianne) Knabel, Karen (Rick) Raby; and numerous cousins and schoolmates.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother Charlotte Knabel; and uncle David Steiner.
Visitation will be held at Bosse Funeral Home, 1355 Ellison Avenue (Louisville) from 2-8 pm Sunday, October 30th. A Funeral Mass at St. Aloysius, Peewee Valley, Kentucky located at 212 Mount Mercy Drive will be held on Monday, October 31st, 10 AM.
Expression of sympathy may be made to Churchill Park School.

I send my deepest and most sincere condolences to you and your family. I cannot begin to imagine the heartache you are experiencing at this time. My daughter, Jillian, is almost 9 years old and was diagnosed with Rett syndrome at 17 months. We also call her the Queen and her favorite color is also pink. They would have been best pals, I am sure. Please know our family is praying for your family.

I recall the Facebook photos of your family on a recent Disney vacation -- it depicted a big and beautiful family, with Megan in the center of it all, interacting with both her parents and her siblings -- all smiles! My father Danny spoke so highly of your family and the love you had for your children. He said you were just a wonderful family. I am so sorry for the loss of your daughter. The bond between a family and their child with special needs is intense and hard to describe, but the loss you feel is just horrible.
