Stephanie Posey Obituary
BUCYRUS: Stephanie M. Posey, 57, of Bucyrus passed away on Friday May 27, 2011 at the Odyssey House in Columbus, OH.
Stephanie was born Dec. 26, 1953 in Bucyrus to the late Robert W. Posey Sr. and Mary (Zahara) Posey, who survives. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by son, Stephen J. Morris.
Stephanie is also survived by son, Gavin (Crystal) Gould, Columbus; daughter, Shannon (Zachary) Asbury, Clermont, FL; brother Robert (Becky) Posey Jr, Bucyrus; sister, Michele (Brian) Chase, Indianapolis, IN; nieces and nephews, Mike, Robbie, Alexis, Adam, and Annie; as well as 3 great nieces; and 1 great nephew.
Stephanie worked at the Timken Co. prior to moving to Michigan for 5 yrs. In 1983 she returned to Bucyrus and took over the duties of running the family business, "Posey's Hilltop Inn", founded by her parents in 1947. She was a 1972 graduate of Bucyrus High School and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church where she served as an eucharistic minister. Stephanie was a member of both the VFW Post #1078 and the Rotary Club and was also a proud season ticket holder for the Cleveland Browns.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Saturday, June 18th at 10:00 a.m., and the family will receive friends and family at the church one hour prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the PKD Foundation, and/or donate blood in her honor. Steph was one of the most incredibly strong and couragous women I have met in my life. My world will always have a hole that only she could fill. She made me laugh like no one else could and ALWAYS made me feel like I was special. Sadly missing my friend and cousin.. love always.. Liz

I also worked at Poseys. It wasnt a job though it was so much fun. I will miss Stephanie. She was so full of life, stories and fun. Sorry for your loss Gavin and Sissy.

Condolences to Gavin & Sis,Michelle and Bob Posey.I have known 'Steph Babe' for 45 years and she was one great friend.I loved going out to Poseys and doing karaoke.I also liked going out to the restaurant and helping Steph and Margret make meat balls!I will miss this lady very much,but I think that we can all take comfort in knowing that Steph is no longer suffering and is in Gods care.I will never forget that Steph sat up in her bed and smiled and waved to us,just 10 days befor her passing.Rest in peace,Steph.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. We have many wonderful memories of the entire Posey family as our neighbors on Hopley. Stephanie's help during the 'Hotdog' roast and her friendship with Don will never be forgotten, nor will her smile and pride in the family restaurant. Rest in peace, Stephanie.

Gavin & Sis, so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. She always talked about both of you when we went to Posey's to eat, which has been for many years now. She was a kind person and a great person to just sit and gab with after a good meal at the restaurant. We will miss her smiling face.

Stephanie was such a great friend and mentor during a very important time in my life. While I worked for her for five years, I never felt like she was my boss...only my friend. It pains me greatly to hear of this news. Stephanie was a wonderful lady....the Lord has taken a great one. My prayers go out to Gavin, Sis, and the entire family.

Stephanie was a great classmate and a friend I had recently re-connected with. It was clear her sparkling personality hadn't changed over the years, and she was just as vivacious and full of life as always. She will be greatly missed. My sincere condolences to her family and friends.
