To the Lorenz Family,
Please accept my condolences in the passing of Mr. Lorenz. I'll remember him as an avid walker, as I'd see him walking often through the years. I'll remember him (and Mrs. Lorenz) sitting on their porch on Lafayette. They were a constant presence, as many others had moved away. I'm sorry for your loss.

Betty and the Lorenz family,
My deepest condolences on the loss of your loving husband and father. Bob was a warm and welcoming mentor and colleague to me as a new professor, and I will always be grateful for his friendship and advice. His dedication to students, their welfare, and the teaching of sociology were evident to all who knew him.
I am so sorry that I will be away and unable to attend the services this weekend, but please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
