This is an excerpt from the eulogy that Granddaughter Nicole and Grandson (Me) delivered yesterday at her funeral:

If you had a chance to know Angeline - or if you were as fortunate as us to have her as your grandmother, you would have known that she set the bar for grand-mothering and she set it high.

She showed us how to enjoy a cute joke and sing out loud. She had the quickest wit and loved to tell you a story. She was sharp enough to do a Cryptoquip every day until she was 90. She could be a fierce competitor but also, the most patient of teachers when it came to teaching games like Rummikub, Euchre or Gin.

She taught us all that the best things in life are the little things. Always a giver, buying her something was impossible, but whatever you made her was always the perfect keepsake forever.

When you got to her house, she would greet you like she unexpectedly won the lottery and immediately make you something to eat (Katy's favorite was Polish dumpling soup) I liked the oatmeal-raisin cookies best.

If you had talked to her on the phone she would have wanted to know all about you and your business, whatever your business was and you could be a janitor at a school or the CEO of the World Bank and all of your dealings would be appreciated and put into perspective.

And what you had for supper, your adventures in your life, wins, losses, stumblings and learnings were all equally important to her.

This was because her family was the most important thing she had. If you became a member of her family, you were a part she would love you forever. For those of you who were her friends, these words ring true to you as well because Angie considered her friends members of her family. We know that her friends embraced her and loved her very much.

When you finished the call, she would have told you to "stay safe", thanked you for calling, asked you to hug everyone (by name) for her and she would always end the call with a toodle-loo

Gramma was a saver, not a spender, she saved everything- money, moments, stories. One thing she was particularly generous with was advice. Some gramma pearls of wisdom included:

save your money for a rainy day

let the people you love know it

a smile will get you farther than a frown

you catch more flies with honey

somebody light a match

Gramma and Grampa wrote love letters to one another during The War. His nickname for her was Angel- she called him Sharpy. They ended every letter by saying "God bless you now and always". So I say to you today from Angie and Cotty "God bless you now and always" "toodle-loo Gramma Schneider, we love you"

Sue & Jerry (Hap),

A lifetime of memories are with me (literally). Our moms were friends before our births--I'll always remember your visits to grandma Susman's before Chapel Avenue inherited your family. What a blessing that was. I'll always remember how your mom welcomed Joe, Denise & Joseph into her home on our last visit to Cheektowaga. Too many other fond memories to mention here. You and all the family are in our prayers.

Love,
Sharon Frias & family, Albuquerque, New Mexico
