Julie, Tommy and Steven,
Your passionate dedication and selfless love for your father has been relentless at a time when Joe needed you the most. You have made your father very proud by showing the world what it means to be a "family". It was my privilidge to serve such a brave Veteran; I will never forget him!

God saw Joe getting tired,
When a cure was not to be.
So He wrapped his arms around him,
and whispered, "Come to me".
Joe didn't deserve what he went through,
So He gave him rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best
And when we saw him sleeping,
So peaceful and free from pain
We could not wish him back
To suffer that again.

I grew up on Sweetwood Dr, best friends with Stevie and the Halter Family. I always will remember how Joe would openly kiss his children and say "I love you" each and every day. That's special! I have learned to embrace my own children today much in the same way. Thanks Joe!

Irmagard and Family,
We received the sad news about Joe. Our deepest sympathies goes out to all of you at this very sad and trying time. Mary and I have some or our fondest and best memories around the times with Joe, you Irmagard and the children. We are sorry we won't be able to come back to Buffalo to pay our last respects, but our thoughts and prayers will be with all of you this week and always.This summer when we get back to Bufalo, we will call to see you Irmagard.
