David WEAVER Obituary

WEAVER - David Grant David passed away peacefully at Hospice Buffalo on December 5, ending a three-year string of awe inspiring victories against brain cancer. He was 25. Born March 31, 1988, David spent the first 13 years of his life in Davis County, UT, before moving to the Buffalo area, where he recently graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in business administration from Buffalo State College. David is survived by his mother, Joanne, 56, of Tonawanda, NY; his father, Bradford, 56, of South Weber, UT; his sister, Ryan, 28, of Brooklyn, NY and by countless extended and adopted family members around the world that he loved throughout his lifetime. David was a curious and compassionate man, a lifelong student and longtime entrepreneur who aspired to start a business that would improve the lives of children, and who often donated his money and time to supporting their welfare. He was admired for his quiet tenacity, whether he was attending college classes between chemotherapy sessions, supporting fundraising events for the Roswell Park Cancer Institute (where he worked as an intern following his diagnosis there), or patiently practicing his next skateboarding trick. He was also sought after as a graphic artist, videographer and DJ. A world traveler who spoke 3 languages, David ascribed to an inclusive spirituality that informed his open-hearted acceptance towards all. His loss will be felt profoundly, but the lessons he taught will remain forever with us. A 10:00 AM service for David will be held on Saturday, December 21 at The Well , 781 Maple Rd., Amherst, NY 14221 followed by a pot luck reception from 12 - 4 PM at Getzville Fire Company, 630 Dodge Rd., Getzville, NY 14068. His ashes will be scattered in the desert of Southern Utah at a later date. In lieu of flowers, David's family kindly requests the donations be made in his memory to the Dent Neuro-Oncology Patient Care Fund, 3980 Sheridan Drive, Suite B, Amherst, NY 14226.

I'm 37 now and yet to meet anyone else that comes even close to who he was and what he was all about; probably the way it'll always be.

Very sorry to read of David's passing; extremely difficult because of his young age and all the happiness his life would have brought to Brad, Joanne and Ryan and family. Believe, and you can be assured that he is reunited with loved ones, friends and grandparents. We're thinking of you with sincere condolences, Mike and Eleni Fotes, Carolynn York and all the old friends at DMA.

I didn't know David, but feel compelled to comment that his life, though short, was so filled with love and action to help people, I have no doubt the road to his reward is paved in glory. God bless his soul, and my deepest sympathy to those who loved him.

Joanne, Brad, and Ryan I am so sorry. I have watched his awe inspiring videos and reviewed the photographs he posted online. What a great son and brother. My sincere sympathy. Love to you all, Michele Burbidge
