URBANA - Earl N. Puckett, 74, of North Lewisburg, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born November 19, 1942 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Starling Earl and Ollie May (Smith) Puckett. He retired after 30 years of service from International Harvester. Earl was also a paramedic for the North East Champaign County Fire District. Earl was an avid hunter and enjoyed attending auctions.
Earl is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruth Ann (Thurman) Puckett; daughters, Lori (Tony) James and Melissa Eickemeyer; son Kevin (Mary) Puckett; grandchildren, David (Jessica) James, Brad (Stephanie) Eickemeyer, Ethan (Jaima) James, Ashley Puckett, Lindsey Eickemeyer, Cierra and Eligh Puckett; great-grandchildren, Adam, Seth, Lilly and Austin; brother-in-law, Ronald Straight; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Christina West and Julia Straight; and brother-in-law, Arthur "Leroy" West.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 2-5 p.m. on Monday, September 4, 2017 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in the funeral home with Pastor Mike Grable officiating. Burial will follow in Jenkins Chapel Cemetery, Cable, Ohio.

So sorry to hear about Earl. My thoughts and prayers are with all family during this time. My great grandmother was Maude Puckett. Star was my great uncle, Geraldine Shoemaker (Puckett) was my grandmother. My mom Dorthy Lockard (Shoemaker).
