Wilbur 'Bill' Cheeks
Wilbur "Bill" Cheeks, 80, of Polk passed away Tuesday at home after a sudden illness.
Born on Sept. 27, 1932, in Scottsdale, Va., he was the son of John W. Cheeks and Minnie G. Beasley Cheeks.
Bill received his education from Scottsdale High School. He married Naomi Plank on March 8, 1951. She survives.
Bill retired from the United Telephone Co. Bill also was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He enjoyed collecting and working on classic cars.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Wilbur "Wil" Cheeks of Cleveland, Ohio, and Karl Cheeks and his wife, Sharon, of Butler.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Helen Chialastri.
CHEEKS - Funeral services for Wilbur "Bill" Cheeks, who died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, will be private.
The Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home in Clintonville is in charge of the arrangements.
