Thomas L. Bash
Thomas L. "Tom" Bash, 76, of Saxonburg passed away Monday at Allegheny Valley Hospital.
Born April 4, 1935, in Natrona Heights, he was the son of Andrew George and Laura (Baker) Bash.
Tom proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1958 until 1960, and he was stationed in Germany.
He worked for Carnegie Mellon University for 19Z\x years. He also worked for the South Butler School District as a custodian in Saxonburg Elementary for 26 years.
He was a member of the Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church.
He enjoyed camping, working in his garage and spending time with his pride and joy, his grandson, Logan.
Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years, Elaine (Hice) Bash; his son, David (Linda) Bash of Allison Park; his grandson, Logan Bash of Allison Park; his brother, Martin "Bud" Bash of Sarver; and his sisters, Minnie Sum of Valencia, Violet Hunter of Harwick, Connie Hoak of Brackenridge and Mary Sager of Homer City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Chester Gibson and Andy "John" Bash; and his sister, Margaret Love.
BASH - Friends of Thomas L. "Tom" Bash, who died Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Brewer officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park.
Memorial donations may be made to the Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 466, Saxonburg, PA 16056 or to the American Heart Association, 777 Penn Center Blvd., Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15235.

I grew up with Tom as our school Janitor... and never realized we were family. He made each day fun and interesting for us when we were kids. He left a strong impression on many. I do know that he will be greatly missed.
