Eugene Elmer "Gene" McClary

Eugene Elmer "Gene" McClary, 81, of Cranberry Township passed away Friday at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.
Born on March 18, 1933, in Niles, Mich., he was the son of the late Elmer Frank and Magnolia (Bennett) McClary.
Gene was a proud U.S. Army veteran who loved his country and developed a special fondness for working with tanks during his time in the military. He worked as a draftsman his entire life, even into his eighties.
Gene was a member of the Cranberry Elks Lodge 2249 and had a love of cars and NASCAR. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, Lydia, and cherished the time he spent with his family.
He is survived by his two children, Daniel McClary and his wife, Jennifer, of Willow Street, and Deborah Nolen of Lakeland, Fla.; his six stepchildren, Cindi Gallaher of Ellwood City, Nici Gallaher of Evans City, James Gallaher Jr. of Ellwood City, Robert J. Gallaher and his wife, Lynne, of North Sewickley Township, Dennis G. Gallaher of Ellwood City and Danna McClellan and her husband, Steve, of Cincinnati, Ohio; his six grandchildren, Samuel, Anne, Chelsea, Josiah, Geoffrey and Sean; and his five stepgrandchildren, Rochelle, Loralei, Zachary, Preston and Alexis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 19 years, Lydia Ann McClary, who passed away on Dec. 25, 2013.
McClary - Gene's family will welcome friends of Eugene Elmer "Gene" McClary, who passed away Friday, June 20, 2014, from 4 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township, with the Rev. Andrew Shaffer officiating.
