It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, amazing brother, friend and grandson, Jordan Gabriel Segura of Calgary, AB, on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the age of 22 years. Jordan was a gentle and kind soul who was a special friend to so many.
Jordan, we will miss you forever.
Jordan leaves behind his mother Maxine Patricia Segura (nee Schofield); father Ricardo Alberto Segura; brother Jullien Ricardo Segura; and many family members and friends. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Sunday, April 20, 2014 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of Jordan Segura, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.

I believe there are angels that are sent to us for a little while to teach us the meaning of love, to guide us with words of wisdom. Jordan, to all that knew you and those of us who did not, you have made us better people by having graced our world for awhile. May you rest in peace precious child, and we ask the Good Lord to walk closely with those who loved you so..and give them the strength to carry on. They are so loved.

I did not know Jordan or the others but heard the awful news and cried. My heart goes out to all of you. These five young adults taken all to soon with so much life to live and give. In due time stay strong. Jordan is now in the hands of God and up in the bright blue heavens and will be taken care of. RIP JORDAN!!!

My husband Blair and I got to know William Segura and his family in Edmonton many years ago. I know how important family was to them and I know they grieve deeply with you at the loss of Jordan. Please know that while we don't personally know your family, our hearts are aching at the loss and grief you feel. We are praying that God will bring comfort to you in the days ahead. No amount of reasoning will ever answer the "why" of this tragedy but we do trust that God will keep you close and give you the strength to carry on. We care.

A friend of friends, Jordan was someone who I only know through stories and kind words. I never had the chance to meet him, but surely would have one day. Although I regret that that chance did not come sooner, I feel that I will still have to know him, as his memory will live on in the many lives he has impacted. I hope the idea that he managed to leave such a strong positive impression, even when his time was cut so short, serves to be a comfort to your family in the coming days, months and years. I didn't personally know Jordan well, but I had taken a class with him this past semester. He had such a warm and gentle presence, truly an unforgettable individual. I had the pleasure of working with Jordan a few years ago and I can honestly say he was one of the most kind, generous, sweet guys I have ever met.
