Kaiti PERRAS Obituary
February 5, 1991 – April 15, 2014
It is with unbearable sadness that we announce the passing of Kaiti Ashley Perras on Tuesday, April 15, 2014. Kaiti was a loving daughter to Shannon Miller and Gregg and Kam Perras. She is survived by her two sisters, Nicky and Aliya and her brother, Josh. Family was everything to her and also includes her grandparents, Larry and Sue Miller and Roland and Dolores Perras, as well as numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W., Calgary, AB) on Sunday, April 20, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A Celebration of Kaiti's Life will be held at First Alliance Church (12345 - 40 Street S.E.) on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Colourful attire is encouraged. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Kaiti Perras – Love of Dance Scholarship Fund at the Counterpoint Dance Academy Marda Loop. Donations can be made at the celebration or through any TD Bank or can send email transfers to [email protected]. In living memory of Kaiti Perras, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.

This has been an unbearably sad week and I can't begin to write anything that could possibly help with the pain of losing Kaiti. Dancing with Kaiti was an absolute blessing. Sharing our love of dance and particularly ballet brought us closer together. I began dancing with Kaiti when Counterpoint first opened and we continued to grow and dance together until the end of high school. I can honestly say she was the most naturally talented ballerina I had ever laid eyes on. Effortlessly, she would float through dances and anyone watching her could feel her passion and love for dancing. It was truly beautiful and emotional to watch her dance. I always, always looked up to her as both a dancer and person. She was so humble and had a deep understanding of the world that I don't think many people have, always seeing the best in people. After this week, learning so much about Kaiti as a person through friends and family, I can say that more than anything I wish I could have gotten to know her better in the years after we both stopped dancing. I will forever keep you in my heart beautiful Kaiti and I am hoping to dance again soon for both of us. I hope you are dancing up there. So much love and my absolute deepest condolences to Kaiti's family and friends. This is an absolute loss of a beautiful girl.

Never knew any of them just what I read in paper and saw on TV. I'm so sad and cried to know that all five of these young adults were taken to soon with so much life to live and give. My heart goes out to all of you but she is in good hands and now up in the bright blue heavens with God watching over Kaiti. Over time just stay strong. RIP KAITI!!!

My heart aches for the loss of such a special young woman. I had the privilege of teaching Kaiti jazz/lyrical. Her love of dance, inner light, and spirit has greatly impacted my life forever. You could rely on her always, her hardworking nature helped motivate others, and when she smiled she could lift the room. I fondly remember her support during my engagement and wedding. I'm about 3000 miles away when I read on the internet of Kaiti's passing. I can't get this loss out of my mind. Whenever you and I got together in the past we talked about our kids – what they were doing, what they weren't doing but most of all our hopes for them. We rarely talked business, we talked about our families. I'm so terribly sorry for this loss. I'm rarely without words but this time there just aren't any that can get the job done.
