HAYNES, Leonora Albertha (nee Lord)
November 18, 1908 - February 27, 2012
Leonora Haynes of Calgary passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her family on Monday, February 27, 2012 at the age of 103 years. Mum devoted her life to the care and upbringing of her seven children, as well as to being a faithful and loving wife to her husband before he passed away after fifty one years of marriage. Following the death of her husband, mum immigrated to Calgary where she lived with her children until her death. She was a devout Christian and an active member of the Anglican Church for all of her life. Mum was a lady and a loving mother with many fine qualities. Her death will leave a lasting void in the hearts of all her children and fond memories for all whom she met. Leonora is survived by her children, Rev. Cyril Haynes (Irma), Henderson and Julia of Calgary; Carlisle Haynes and Lucille Nwachuku (Charles) of London, England. Also mourning her loss are her two sisters, seventeen grandchildren, seventeen great- grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Leonora was predeceased by her husband Clayton; her two sons Cecil and Carol, two brothers and a sister. Funeral Services will be held at Cathedral Church of the Redeemer (218 - 7 Avenue S.E.) on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow in Barbados.
