Bill and Family,
Please accept my condolences. I'll always remember Lydia as being something of a cutup in Brewster School. Of course she could get away with a little more since her dad was principal

My sympathies to the family of Lydia Hug. She sure was a great lady! She always had a smile and a unique giggle to offer. My first memory of Lydia was when I was in second grade and she was substituting. My mom was thrilled. She started laughing then told me to ask her if her maiden name was Kurtz. The next day she was on recess duty. I can still see her standing there with the whistle in hand. I asked her if her maiden name was Kurtz and she said yes and started laughing. Of course, I really didn't know what maiden name was, but it must have been something funny to make her and my mom laugh! Then, there were the visits to my Aunt Mary Lou's house where I would see Lydia, Marilyn and Hazel. Aunt Mary would do their hair only to have Richie come out and say, "you expect my mom to do miracles!" then the laughter would start! Lydia introduced me to Mary Kay products. She helped me gain confidence in myself and was always there to help me. One Thanksgiving, she had my mom make a big roaster of dressing for her Thanksgiving - and if that was a family secret, I'm sorry I told! Of course, my mom was thrilled that "Miss Lydia" asked her to make the dressing. She and Marilyn read the many memory cards at my Mom and Dad's 50th Anniversary. They definitely can host a party! Lydia, Mike and family, Hazel and Bill, and Marilyn,Bob and family, have always been a very special family to me and my family and my parents, too! Your friendship, caring and kindnesses will never be forgotten. I know my Aunt Mary will miss her deeply as I have only seen her cry one other time in my life - when Grandma Fritz passed away. It is so hard to let her go, but I can only envision Hazel and Bill waiting so eagerly in heaven to greet her and to see her once again. I will miss you Lydia and thank you for being a part of my life and my family as well. With all my love, Janice Amstutz
