Karen Kershner Obituary
age 62, of Plain Township, passed away on Sunday July 3, 2011. Born in Akron on Sept. 12, 1948 to the late William L. and Olive M. Church, she graduated from Springfield High School and attended The University of Akron. She enjoyed gardening, reading and her family.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years James; children Kenneth (Stacey) Kershner of Plain Township, Jamie (Jimmy) Wachtel of Los Angeles, Calif., and Jason (Kim Luxeder) Kershner of Plain Township; grandchildren Wolfgang Wachtel and Kaylah Kershner; other relatives and friends.
Calling hours are Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Arnold Funeral Home Canton. Funeral services are Friday 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Final resting place is Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.

Dearest Jim and Family - i am so sorry for your loss; i am without words from shock. Karen's parents and my parents were very close friends; Karen and I grew up together from a very young age both as neighbors and as church family at Arlington. We had many good times growing up together. I know Karen knew Christ as her Savior and that she is at Home with the Lord. I am so, so sorry. My prayers and thoughts are with you at this time, praying for peace.

I am shocked to hear this news. Karen and her parents were my neighbors when I was growing up. She always had a twinkle in her eye and a contagious laughter. My deepest condolences to her family!

Even though we were brought together by the marriage of my sister and your son, you still are family in my eyes. I always loved talking to you, we were even closer than some of my blood relatives.
