Mary Davisson Obituary

Mary C. Davisson
Went home to her dear Lord Jesus on Sept. 7, 2014, at home with her husband at her side. She was born in Harrison, Ark., on July 13, 1949, to the late Weldon and Vera (Kenny) Teakell, and grew up in Kansas City, Mo. During the past 10 years she has been pastor's wife, organist, and Sunday School teacher at Canal Fulton Baptist Church. Mary was also employed at Malone University in the School of Nursing for 20 years, retiring in 2005, and most recently completed Master and Doctor of Theology degrees from Andersonville Theological Seminary and taught English at Massillon Baptist College.
Mary is survived by her husband of 45 years, Dr. Dorsey A. Davisson; son, Allen (Jennifer) Davisson; and cherished grandchildren, Luke and Sarah; also surviving are brother, John (Christine) Teakell; sister, Eunice Teakell; sisters-in-law, Barbara (Bill) Coburn and Louise (Jeff) Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Massillon Baptist Temple, 1219 Overlook Ave. S.W. Friends may call at the Schneeberger Funeral Home, Canton, on Thursday from 5-8 p.m., and at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday. Dear Pastor Davisson,
I am still crying from finding out at church on Sunday. I know she is walking with the lord now and God has whipped away her tears. She is so happy I know it, She is living with out suffering. God thought of you when he was taking her home. But she is better now and happy. God thought it was time for her to come home and do her duties. But know that she is happy and safe. She is in heaven and you will see her soon enough. We are with you in this time of sarrow. We all love you. Love Grace Waring

Brother D and Family: I am so very sorry to hear of Mary's passing. Her love and devotion to God was great. I remember her playing the organ from the time I was a small child to my wedding day, and I still see her in my mind's eye like that. Music is worship, and May worshiped with a joyful heart. My your hearts be filled with the salve of God's love at this time of loss.

Dearest Davisson family,
We are saddened by the news of Mary's passing but take great comfort knowing we will see her again in glory. Mary was such a shining example of a compassionate Christian lady. We were so blessed to have known her. She was a wonderful teacher. I remember her teaching me to play handbells. We pray for comfort for your family at this difficult time.

Dear Davisson Family,
We are so sorry to hear of Mary's Home going. But selfishly we would not wish her back with her pain and suffering. She had such a sweet spirit and was such a compassionate woman of God. Her love for the Lord was always evident in her life. She will be greatly missed. Ernie and Monoka Brown
