Robert Best Obituary
age 66, of Hyannis, Mass., passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully Nov. 11, 2015 at one of his favorite spots on Cape Cod, Veterans Park Beach, a place he visited daily. He was born in Canton April 6, 1949 to the late Robert and Arline (Haverstock) Best. He was a 1967 graduate of Lincoln High School and a graduate of Yale University. While at Yale, he was a member of the famed Yale Russian Chorus and studied abroad at The Sorbonne. Robert loved music and the arts, was an avid reader, and a gifted writer and photographer. After moving to Cape Cod in 2008 from New York City, where he had been an art dealer, he devoted all his time and energy using his camera to capture the astounding beauty of this place he loved.
He will be deeply missed by his surviving siblings, Judith (David) Andersen of East Harwich, Mass., Keith (Darlene) Best of San Francisco, Calif., Kevin (Wendy) Best of Atlanta, Ga., and Elizabeth Sue (Glenn) Tucke, Gale (William) DiGiacomo, Dale (Sharon) Best, all of Canton; and 11 nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 5, 2015 at Cape Cod Covenant Church in Brewster, MA. Interment will be at St. Jacob's Cemetery in North Canton, Ohio.

I only now learned of Bob's death. I was in many of Bob's classes in our four years at Lincoln High School. I remember him as someone I very much admired, his brilliance and social skill, someone who made high school a more interesting and engaging set of experiences. Yale didn't admit many Lincoln graduates, but Bob was more than qualified to succeed in New Haven. Years later, in reflecting on "where are they now," I found Bob's artful photography on his web pages and much appreciated the beauty that he was sharing with us.

I am saddened to hear of Bob's death. We were classmates in elementary school and at Lincoln HS. It is comforting that he left a legacy of gorgeous photographic art, a lasting gift from a special human being.

I graduated with Bob and am so saddened to read about the loss of your brother and my classmate and former close friend. I shared some very special close moments and times with Bob at Lincoln High School and will always treasure them as part of my heart's history. May all of you find comfort in your memories of your time spent with Bob. May God bless all of you.
