Christian Neill "House" Tanner

Christian Neill Tanner, 44, of Arnold, MD died suddenly on November 9, 2017. Christian was the beloved son of Judi and David Tanner and the grandson of Neill and Tudie Turner and Harold and Willy Tanner. Christian started talking at age two; then he never stopped. He could fill a room with his stories and commentary on the world around him. "House" was known far and wide for his infectious smile, acerbic wit, political astuteness, and amazing mind for factoids and trivia will remain unrivaled. He was an active participant in the long-standing success of the Chesapeake Outdoor Group; a local philanthropic and recreational organization. Most importantly, he was generous to a fault, and a great friend in the truest sense of the word to the very many people who were lucky enough to know him. Christian had a passion for cooking and worked in the kitchen of several Annapolis restaurants. He loved sailing, music, football, video games and spending time with his friends and family. At the time of his death he was working in the marine industry and living with his cat name Ritz on a 44' motor yacht that he was restoring. Christian graduated from Fork Union Military Academy in 1991 and briefly attended Salisbury University. Christian is survived by his parents; his sister, Jennifer Tanner Adkins (husband Christopher) two nieces, Gillian and Evelyn Adkins and two nephews, Christopher and Cameron Adkins; all of Annapolis. He is also survived by his uncle, Tom Turner and his wife Katy Turner of Rockville, MD and his cousin Rita Turner of Baltimore. Christian will be greatly missed by his family. His nieces and nephews meant a great deal to him and he cared for them greatly. A celebration of Christian's life and funeral services will be held at St. Margaret's Church, 1601 Pleasant Plains Road, Annapolis, MD 21409 at 11:00 a.m. on December 9, 2017; with a reception following in the Parish Hall.
