Ronald Pollard Obituary



Ronald William "Blackie" Pollard, 70, of Westminster, died suddenly on July 22, 2015 at his home. Born October 12, 1944 in Baltimore, he was the son of Louise Frey Pollard of Westminster and the late Charles Pollard. He was the companion of many years to Linda Royer of Pleasant Valley. Blackie was a Field Engineer for Honeywell until his retirement. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 31. He loved to travel, especially to Alaska. He made lifelong friends wherever he traveled and he loved Native American culture. Surviving in addition to his companion is daughter Lisa Blubaugh and husband Bill of Hampstead; granddaughters Abby and Molly Kuhns of Westminster; brothers Duck Pollard and wife Linda of Westminster and Larry Pollard and wife Phyllis of Westminster; sister Dora Mullar of Hampstead; sister-in-law Nancy Pollard of Florida; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by brothers Charles and Carlton Pollard and his wife Shirley Pollard. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at PRITTS FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 am at the funeral home, with visitation starting at 10 am. Officiating will be Rev. Glenn McCrickard. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association, Memorial and Tribute Processing Center, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216.
