My husband John and I would like to offer our deepest sympathy to Dan's family. John met Dan when he first relocated to Burke. He came into the diner on a daily basis and became part of the countryside family. John and Dans friendship grew, and when John and I were married June 2009 he stood up for us. He was a great man. We felt blessed to have had him in our life. Though we never met his family, we felt as though we did because he spoke so fondly of all of you. If anyone would like somewhat recent pictures of him please let us know we have some nice ones from our wedding. We will continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers. John and Laurie Barton

My deepest sympathy to Dan's family. He was a very dear friend. I will miss him, miss seeing him almost every day. To Dan's kids... he loved you with all of his heart. Anyone could tell by how he looked when he spoke of you and how lovingly he talked of each of you. He always said that he wished that he could see each of you more. To Luke, I hope that you enjoy the motorcycle. He really smiled when he told of how he wanted you to have it if something happened to him. He was so proud of you and your service to our country. Please keep his memory alive and make sure that each of his grandchildren know how deeply he loved them. A sad friend...

TO dannys family ,sorry for your lost. Danny was my best friend as teenagers. I remember driving in his mustang on relsterstown rd. and the hood flew off.we just stopped, picked it up,put it in the back seat. We used to drive it to randalstown, with the top down,in a snow storm. We were so cool. Dan, l always have great memories of you. You were a good friend.

Dear brother, I was thinking today about some of the mischief I made for you when we were much younger and I remember a particular time you stepped up and took the heat and beat for me. It wasn't the first or last time by any means, but nonetheless it just came to mind. Mom and Dad went out for the evening and left us alone. If my memory serves me correctly, we were 12 or 13. It was late summer and the local farmers had begun their harvest. You and I went out into the fields in the late evening in search of keys in the tractors. We wanted to drive! Sure enough, we found big tractor with the keys in the ignition. OMG...we were in heaven. How kool was this? Anyway, as usual, you took the lead and drove it around for about an hour without incident. After hearing me whine and complain for about a half hour about wanting to drive it, you finally relented and gave up the controls. Needless to say, things went downhill in a hurry. I crashed that damn tractor into a ravine and nearly overturned it. It's amazing I didn't kill us both. To make a long story short, you admitted to this "crime" when the farmer came a knocking, and took the blame in front of Mom and Dad. I think you got a good whooping on my behalf, but took it bravely. I love you and wish you Godspeed!

So sorry to hear of Danny's passing. He made me a wonderful pair of wooden rocking chairs and table that I keep on my front porch. I enjoy them and think of him when I use them.

My deepest sympathies to all of Danny's family. I am Danny's first cousin and have many fond memories of our childhood when Uncle Don, Aunt Betty, Danny and Scotty would visit our family on Drummond Island, MI. I recently spoke to Danny this past October and he said he was going to come visit me this coming summer. Just wanted you all to know how much I loved Danny.
