Joseph Grothe Obituary



Joseph Lee Grothe, 77, of Glen Burnie, passed away Saturday February 11, 2017 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie. Born November 22, 1939 in Boring, he was the son of the late Elisha J. and Emma Jane Steger Grothe. Mr. Grothe was an army veteran. He worked as a truck driver. Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Brian T. and Dixie Grothe of Littlestown, PA; grandson, Cylas Grothe of Littlestown; brothers, Elisha J. Grothe, Jr. of Keyser, WV and John Grothe of Upperco; sisters, Lottie McDonald and Beatrice Thomas, both of Baltimore, Hazel Liff of Riva and Leona Rohrbaugh of Hampstead; uncle, Harry Steger of Littlestown. He was predeceased by brothers, Edgar, Charles and Donald Grothe and sisters, Betty Hall, Ann Brodbeck, Mary King and June Stremmel. The family will receive friends Friday February 17 from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. at Eline Funeral Home, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead. Private inurnment will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be sent to Boring United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 50, Boring, MD 21020.
