Edwina H. Cole ORANGEBURG, SC - Edwina H. Cole, 97, widow of A. Clyde Cole, of Orangeburg, SC, passed away, Monday, May 8, 2017. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 15, 2017 at the Nancy Stringer Freeman Memorial Chapel at the Methodist Oaks, with the Rev. Kermit O. Shrawder, Jr. officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends after the service in the chapel. Edwina was born April 9, 1920, to the late Joseph W. Hodges and Agnes Culler Hodges. She attended Furman University and the University of SC. Edwina worked as a secretary for the Orangeburg School System. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and the WSCS and was a former church school teacher. Survivors include her daughter, Carol M. (Jeff) Tisdale of Charleston; a granddaughter Kathleen M. Wise (Kent) of Charleston, and three great-grandchildren, Evan, Shelby and Ansley Rodwell. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Ashley Martin and two sisters, June Hodges Brown and Anne Hodges Poole. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Nancy Stringer Freeman Memorial Chapel, 1000 Methodist Oaks Drive, Orangeburg, SC 29115, St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 1356 Amelia Street, Orangeburg, SC 29115 or to a charity of one's choice.
