Joey Wimberly Obituary

Joey Wimberly BRANCHVILLE, SC - Mr. Joey Wimberly, 44 years of age, died Thursday, November 3, 2011. Mr. Wimberly was born in Orangeburg Co. He was a member of Bowman Masonic Lodge, #290 A.F.M., and a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church; he loved spending time with his friends at the Edisto River and being with his three precious pups, Harley, Cocoa, and P-Nut. Joey was a lifelong resident of the Branchville Community. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, November 6, 2011, at 2:00 P.M., at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, with Rev. Brian Gray and Rev. Bobby Ethridge officiating. Burial will be in Dukes Cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 1:00 P.M. Pallbearers will be Jerry Summers, Bob Moore, Tommy Connelly, Jim Lisby, Mike Hay, and Carlton Lyons. Honorary pallbearers will be Blaine Heffelfinger, Sparky Westbury and Bruce Proctor. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 6 to 8 P.M., at Ott Funeral Home, in Branchville. Friends may call at the residence, 7135 Freedom Rd. He is survived by his wife, Melissa "Missy" Wimberly, of Branchville, parents, Boley and Naomi Wimberly of Rowesville, one sister, Stephanie W. Heffelfinger (Blaine) of Rowesville, paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wimberly of Reevesville, maternal grandmother, Mrs. Maudelle Miller of Rowesville. He is also survived by his father in law, Al Lyons, of Branchville, one brother in law, Carlton Lyons (Becky) of Charleston, and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, 1425 Mt. Tabor Rd., Bowman, SC, 29018, or to a charity of one's choice. Online guest book can be signed www.ottfh.com.
