Kathleen Andrews Obituary

Kathleen Andrews CHARLESTON - Kathleen J. Andrews, 76, of Charleston, South Carolina and Cincinnati, Ohio, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, November 16, 2011. Kathy was born in Dayton, Ohio to Mary I. and John F. Morrisey. She married Carl Andrews on July 3, 1954 and was the mother to 3 children, Carla Andrews of Denver CO, John Andrews of Dakar, Senegal, Africa, and Barbara Wickman of Hillsdale, NY. Kathy lived life to the fullest, enjoying people, flowers, books and her grandchildren. She spent many hours mentoring children in the Charleston and North Charleston School Districts. She is remembered with a smile from all who knew her. Besides her husband of 57 years, and her children, she is survived by 5 grandchildren, Ryan, Kevin, Kiera, Logan and Carson, her sister Mary Pat Straw, Tucson, AZ. and numerous nieces, nephews, grand relatives, and special friends. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, sister Patricia Ann Flaherty, and twin sister, Maureen Bloomfield. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 1 at 1:00 PM. at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, West Ashley Chapel, Bees Ferry Road. Family and friends are invited to call from 12:00PM to 1:00PM prior to the memorial service. Interment will follow in the spring at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Cincinnati, Ohio. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Friends of the Charleston Library.
