I just ran into Mike at Water's Edge on Shem Creek the Monday before he left for St. Marteen. We hugged and had a nice chat about his new spiced rum business, shared a beer or two, and caught up on old times. Little did I know this would be the last time I saw my old friend alive. I have known Mike and Thelma for over forty years and never had a cross word with either one of them. Two lives WELL LIVED, and tragically cut short. They touched people's lives from Columbia, to Mt. Pleasant, to the Carribean. My heart goes out to The king's and the Strickland's.

Heaven has 2 more Angels!! How blessed we were to have known & made memories w/ them. They were & always will be SPECIAL & LOVED!!!

Words are but letters put together on a page, in a book, used to express love, hope, compassion, and sadness. I grieve with their families, their friends, and their passing has placed a hole in all our hearts. Perhaps they are smiling on us from heaven and saying "we're fine up here in Heaven, please remember the good times, the laughter, the jokes, the tears and know that we are here waiting for you when God decides your time. We were together in life and now in death. Do not grieve but rejoice and celebrate what made us who we were and who you are yet to be." God's presence is with you. Let his comfort blanket you through your sorrow and his peace fill your hearts.
