Ellen Krueger Obituary
Mrs. Krueger, 93, of Charlotte, died Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Brookdale Place of South Charlotte. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama, September 3, 1917 the first daughter of the late William Herman Byrd and Ollie Mae Hughes Byrd. Ellen's family moved to Charlotte and she graduated from Central High School. On June 16, 1937 she married Fred C. Krueger, Jr., at the First Methodist Church of Charlotte, NC. She was a member of Mouzon United Methodist Church for over 45 years, where she participated in various missions and sang in the Choir with her husband until November 2009.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Fred C. Krueger, Jr., her parents, brother: William Douglas Byrd and Wilbur Herman Byrd and twin son, Gary Lee Krueger.She is survived by her twin son, Cary Louis Krueger and his wife, Jane Delavan Krueger, Gary's wife, Rebecca Brandes Krueger; 7 grandchildren: Cary Louis Krueger, Jr., Robert 'Kurt' Krueger, Lt. Colonel Michael Kevin Krueger, Sarah Elizabeth 'Beth' Krueger Conner, Amy Krueger Anthony, James Jeffrey Wallace and Jennifer Wallace Miller and 13 great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends 1:00 PM until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel with Pastor Mark Muckler, Mouzon United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mouzon United Methodist Church, 3100 Selwyn Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28209, or Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte, 1420 E. Seventh Street, Charlotte, NC 28202.
Arrangements are by McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.

We all called her "Sugar" - I think it started with her brother, Wilbur, my dad. It's hard to lose someone, especially near a holiday. Cary, it's hard to lose a parent no matter how old we /they are. If there is anything I can do from all these miles away, please let me know.
