Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this month and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Noah Miles Pier US Marine Lance Corporal.

We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families and friends and others who support our mission.

We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.

Sincerely,

My heart breaks for Noah's family and friends and fiance. I'm so very sorry for your loss and know that everyone says time will ease the pain, but I'm not sure that is true. Maybe over time we will be able to come to terms with the loss, but living without a hero will forever leave a void that time cannot erase.

Thank you to Noah and his entire family for the sacrifce they made so that we can live free.

To the Pier family:
May the comfort from family and friends continue to strengthen you, and may you find comfort in the words found in the Holy Scriptures: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."

For Lance...

WEEP NOT FOR ME

Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.

Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.

I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.

Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.

Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.

Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of LCpl. Pier and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of freedom and liberty. Sadly, America has lost one of its finest heroes, the U.S. has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage, which they will love and respect forever. Today, because of the sacrifice LCpl. Pier has made, the house of freedom is stronger, sturdier, and more secure.

To the family and friends, of LCpl. Pier, I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to carry on. Just as you were always with him when he was deployed overseas, know that he will always be with you wherever you may be. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that LCpl. Pier was a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

"Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid, they have earned our undying gratitude. America will never, ever forget their sacrifices."

LCpl. Pier the flag of the United States of America has your blood sewn into the fabric; it shall forever wave in your honor.

Freedom requires sacrifice the protected will never know.

I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of Lance Cpl Noah Pier. What a blessing he is to all who knew him so well and what a missed blessing for those like myself who did not cross paths in life with him. I join with you in grieving for Noah and in remembering and honoring him. We will not forget his greatest of all sacrifices for freedom.

Thank you, Noah, for touching so many lives through your time on this earth. Your fight for freedom will benefit many generations to come, so is without end. I will look you up and get to know you when my journey in this life takes me to where you are now. Until then, rest in peace, son. You so very much deserve it.

I will continue to remember Noah's family and friends in my prayers as long as I have breath in me to do so. May God's perfect peace carry each of you through this rough storm and help you find joy and laughter again, very soon.

God bless you and all who may read this.

Prayer for Peace

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Amen

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. I truly feel your loss and pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Noah will never be forgotten.

For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

For those missing in action;
for those who didn’t make it home.
I know you’re in God’s presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.

I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.

I salute you .

My Dear Pier family,
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. My prayers and thoughts are with you. It seems surreal that it was over 15 years ago that Noah was hanging out of the trees up at the school behind our houses, with Joe and Marky. Shooting nerf arrows at Katti, Tara and I as we passed by on our bikes. What I would give to have those carefree childhood days back with all of us together.
Much love, Andi

To the Pier Family-Your precious son died protecting the freedom that my family and I live under and I simply wanted to say thank you. It takes immense courage to go into battle and fight for what you beleive in. Noah was courageous, brave and a man of character and honor. My young son often sees coverage of the news and the fighting in Afghanistan. I explain to him why soldiers are fighting for us and making the ultimate sacrifice. I told him about your Noah's sacrifice so he could live freely and safely in America. I know that none of my words lessen your loss and your pain. I have sincerely prayed that God would give you the grace you need to make it one more day. I do want you to know that there are MANY Americans who do recognize the sacrifice and honroable service our men and women in uniform perform, including your son. To his Fiance-You have lost your dreams with Noah and your planned life together and I am sorry. I know you will honor him with how you live and I am so sorry you will not be able to spend your life with him. May God Bless you and comfort you all!

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to LCpl Noah Pier our Brother in Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Noah. And to Noah it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made for his country while opposing enemy forces in Afghanistan. No greater love is shown than a man lay down his life for another. Noah, you are a brave Marine Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,353 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Noah’s family and loved ones. Semper Fi !

Mark, Vikki and family. I just found out about Noah. I am crying with you. In our little church in England, we have a family who lost a son of Noah's age just 3 months ago. I wish there was some magic potion to make it all better.

Noah found his way in life and you must be so proud of him. He sacrificed his life for the benefit of others. He is in very good company. Someone did the very same thing over 2000 years ago. His name was Jesus.

We honor you, Noah, the Marines and all those brave men and women who believe that our ability to work, play and worship in freedom is worth a price.

His memory will live forever and his larger extended military mourn his loss with you. Our words of love and support and gratitude will not erase your pain, but your memories of Noah are the gifts he has left with you and they will bring you joy and solace.

We at Burrow and Case Orthodontics wish to express our deepest sympathies in the loss of Noah, an American hero. Know our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time. We know your faith in God and all the memories will help carry you through.

We did not know Noah, but he is related to my dearest friend, Darlene Smith Kiernan, mother of Michael, one your own family members, who accompanied Noah home to his final resting place. Your son's selfless dedication cost him his life for the freedom of this great nation. There is no greater hero than Noah, and the other young men and women who put their lives on the line to serve our country. As a retired Naval Officer, I am deeply moved by the bravery of these fine young Americans. We share your grief and our prayers are with your family and close friends. You lost a fine young man in Noah, but please take solace in the fact that his death was not in vain. We are all sincerely grateful to your beloved son, Noah.

To The Pier Family

My heart aches for you and your loss. First I would like to thank you for loaning Noah to us. No one could ever know your heartache unless they have experienced losing their child. Know that his sacrifice will never be forgotten by those he was serving with and for. May God bring peace until you see him again. I have a son that has served two tours in Iraq with the Marines and will deploy to Afghanistan next month. I will keep my prayers open for your family. We Marines stick together. If you ever need a shoulder, mine is always available. God bless you and your family.

Dear Pier Family:

We are a former military family ourselves. We don't know what it is like to have a son die . . . but God does! Because Jesus took our place and sacrificed His life on the Cross, we can have eternal life and freedom from hell; because Noah took our place and sacrificed his life for his/our country, we can have a good life here and freedom in America!

May God keep His loving and comforting arms around you in the next weeks, months and years to come, and may He protect you and your other family members who are serving in the military.

Thank you for sharing your son with our country. Memorial Day and Veteran's Day will take on a whole new meaning in the years to come.

Sincerely,
(Former Northsider's)

We did not know Noah. His Aunt Pam is a dear friend of ours. She loved him, therefore, we loved him. We thank God that there are brave men and women like Noah. We share your grief for the loss of this brave young American.

To the family,friends and Rachel: You are in our prayers and thoughts. We have freedom because of Noah and fine Americans like him. We are so sad for your loss but so thankful and proud of Noah. On June 16, 2009, we lost a fine young man, our grandson, Lance cpl.Johnathan Sharpe.USMC. He was killed at Camp Lejeune in a traning accident in preparation for deployment to Afghanistan, in Nov. We miss him so much. Please know that your loved one will not be forgotten.

My family and myself would like to offer our deepest sympathy to your family and friends. You see we to have lost someone near and dear to us in this awful war. My future son-in-law who was to marry my daughter this past Thanksgiving was killed in Afghanistan by a suicide bomber in Oct. 2009. May your family get through this tough time knowing that they now have a very special angel to look over them. Thank you for what you have done for this country and giving the ultimate sacrifice for us to help to keep us safe. I will pray for your family and friends. You will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
