Professor Cole was one of my first teachers when I transferred to Davidson from a community college. He made me feel at home at Davidson, and his encouragement gave me the confidence to make the transition to Davidson's challenging English major. I owe my 22-year career as a community college English instructor to him and others in that department. He was truly one of the kindest, sweetest men I ever had the benefit of knowing. He was a gift. I am saddened and very sorry for your loss.

Celia and Paul, I remember your father so well, and it makes me sad to think that he is gone. He was always so charming to me, and I looked forward to seeing him at the Pines during my visits and catching up on the two of you. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Kathy (Wolf) Roche
