Alan Stewart Obituary

Alan Curtis Stewart (Curt), 63, of Charlotte, NC died suddenly on September 11, 2017 from leukemia. College football gave him a great send off with wins from NC State, Georgia, and Clemson.

Curt was born on September 29, 1953 in Greensboro, NC to the late Al and RueNell Stewart. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Debbie; his daughter and son-in-law, Candice and Carl Andre; and two grandsons, Curtis and Nico. He also leaves behind his older brother, Al and his wife Nicki; and younger sister, Kaye and her husband Alan.

He was a dedicated employee of Macmillan Publishing Group for the last 15 years. While he was one of the lucky ones who loved his work, he was happiest behind the wheel of a boat.

Curt was a hero to many, particularly idolized by his grandson, Curtis. Always charming, he remained a traditional southern gentleman all his life. His devotion to family and friends was unparalleled, and he had a unique way of making others feel supremely important. Our hope is that we can continue to love each other as deeply as he loved us. He, and those eyes, will forever be remembered and forever be missed.

Curt's life will be officially celebrated at a later date with friends and family. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the V Foundation (800-4-JIMMYV / jimmyv.org) or the American Red Cross (redcross.org).

Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home is assisting the family. Friends may offer condolences at raymerfh.com
