Joyce Adams Obituary
May 2, 1926 - March 16, 2016
Resident of Pleasant Hill
Mrs. Joyce Elaine Adams, 89, of Pleasant Hill, went home to be with the Lord on March 16, 2016 peacefully at her house. Joyce was born on May 2, 1926 in Dennison, Texas, the daughter of the late Leon Alden and Ollie Mae Clarke. She earned her nursing degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She worked for 3 years before starting a family and becoming a homemaker. Joyce loved to sew and spend time outside in her flower garden. She spent 30 years as a senior leader with the Community Bible Study in Concord and also cherished her prayer partners of 25 years and Sunday school class from North Creek Church. There will be a significant void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Joyce is survived by sons, Michael and wife Kim of Greensboro, NC and David and wife Judy of Mooresville, NC; daughter Christine Mitchell and husband Pat of Antioch, CA; brother Kenneth and wife Betty Clarke of Columbus, Texas; 10 precious grandchildren and 6 equally precious great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Andrew Lemuel Adams, whom she loved dearly; sisters, Helen Ruth Crenshaw and Sidney Dugan, and brother Kutch Clarke; and daughter-in-law Carol Adams.
A memorial service will be held on April 2 at 1pm at North Creek Church, 2303 Ygnacio Valley Road, Walnut Creek, CA. Donations can be made in Joyce's memory to the Bay Area Rescue Mission.

To Joyce's family;
Joyce was a very special godly Christian woman. We considered it a privilege to have her for an aunt. We remember when she came to Austin and spent the night in the assisted living facility with her sister Helen (our Mom and Mother in law). They had a great time! God Bless y'all! We miss you Joyce! We know you are with Jesus!!!
