ELLEN KINAHAN

Ellen "Nell" Kinahan, nee Galvin, 101, devoted wife of the late Anthony P. Kinahan; loving mother of Ellen (Walt) Laechel, the late Jim, John (Kathleen), Kathleen (Gerald) Kowalewski, and Tony; grandmother of Mark, Sharon and Michael Laechel, Elizabeth, John, Erin, John, Timothy and the late Nell Kinahan, Jennifer (Tim) Hanenburg, Gerald, Mitchell and Ellen Kowalewski; great-grandmother of six; fond aunt to many nieces and nephews. Ellen was born in Scartaglin, County Kerry, Ireland in 1909. She met Tony at an Irish dance in Chicago and they became partners for life. She was especially devoted to her faith and lived it every single day. Prayers for others became the mainstay for her life. Throughout the years she set a fine example of love and generosity for her family and friends. Visitation at St. Julie Billiart Church, 7399 W. 159th Street, Tinley Park from 12 p.m. until her Funeral Mass at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2010. Nell will be laid to rest on Monday at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Mercy Home for Boys and Girls are appreciated.
