A. McCONATHY Obituary

A. Dale McConathy, Air Force veteran, age 91, passed away at home in Bolingbrook on July 21, 2012 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Sandra J. (Spitler) McConathy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen R. McConathy and Mabel E. Thompson; as well as his brother, John McConathy; and brother-in-law, Harold Harvey. He will be missed by his sister, Charlotte Harvey; sister-in-law, Shizuko McConathy; sons, Scott A. McConathy (Chris) and Robert B. McConathy (Jan); grandchildren, Heather McConathy, Sean McConathy and Katherine Heppner; stepchildren, Jeff Kornmann (Deborah), John Kornmann (Jennifer) and Leslie Rutyna(Anthony); he will also be missed by his special four-legged friend, Mack. Memorial Service will be Saturday June 28, 2012 at 2 p.m. First Christian Church of Downers Grove, 801 63rd St., Downers Grove, IL 60516. Informal gathering to follow at the church from 3 to 6 p.m.

Mr. McConathey was the first person to ever take my hunting when I was 11 or 12 years old with his son Rob. We walked the fields all day looking for pheasants but ended up shooting tin cans off a fencee post. A memory I will never forget. He will be held in loving memory by his family and friends.

Dale was an awesome father-in-law. I will treasure the time we spent together and remember his positive gentle spirit.
