Dear Danny,
I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I remember him so well through all of our years growing up, always laughing with everyone, and always like a bigger brother to your friends.
I know you have so many great memories with him, and you have to know how fortunate you are that he is your dad.
Please give our condolences to Jan and to the rest of your family, as well.

Dear Diane --
I am so sorry to hear of Justin's passing -- even more sorry since I just recently got to meet him. He struck me then as a man I would really have enjoyed spending time with, and after reading some of the other condolences I now know that this is true.
Please accept my heartfelt sympathy. As you feel stronger, you should consider coming to visit and spending some time here in the Rockies -- the closest you can come to the stars smiling down on you.
With love,
Sharon

Diane & Family
I struggle to find words to express my profound sadness of Justin's passing. We had a special relationship on so many levels. Our many conversations over the 10 years that I knew him bridged the subjects of politics (one of his personal favorites), volcabulary and the correct usage of words, current events, sports of all kinds, but usually the Cubs and so many others that escape me at the moment.
Additionally, Justin actually enjoyed listening to opinions with which he didn't necessarily agree because he prided himself in having an open mind. He would say that you're never too old to learn something.
Although I remembered it surprising me at the time, I learned, over time, that it was quintessential Justin when he expressed his concern about the environment and the planet at large when it came to conservation. But Justin went further than just expressing an opinion, he drove a Prius! He often expressed the desire to help contribute to the Saudi oil fields morfing into the world's biggest sand beach.
Justin was one of the most very special people in my life and I would often refer to him as my favorite renaissance man, as our conversations would know no boundaries or limitations. He was well read and learned to embrace the computer age when his contemporaries passed it off as something for young people.
The hallmark of most every conversation was that we would laugh and I will remember Justin by the following quote by Antoine de Saint-Exupery from The Little Prince:
In one of the stars
I shall be living
In one of them
I shall be laughing
And so it will be
as if all the stars
were laughing
when you look
at the sky at night
...and there is sweetness
in the laughter of all the stars...
and in the memories
of those you love

Dear Diane,
Justine and I grew up together when he lived on Pratt Blvd. and I lived on Columbia Ave. across the alley in Rogers Park. We were between the ages of 10 to 15 then.
After so many years, it was great to meet up again with Justin through the Sullivan Alumni Association and it was just like Justin to be loyal to the organization and give so much of his time.
I always had the greatest respect and admiration for Justin and it was sad to hear of his passing. Please accept our sincerest condolences.
