I knew Philip briefly because I sold Philip the engagement ring he gave to Selena. I remember him as an out going, extremely kind and jovial man. I hope you will find comfort in the wonderful memories he brought you.

I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

I had the distinct pleasure of working alongside Phil at Sargent & Lundy over only the past five months. Hard working, dedicated, kind, cooperative, friendly, outgoing, brilliant - all the superlatives you can come up with apply here. Having met Phil's folks and family this afternoon, I see why he was such a quality guy--he obviously had quality parents and a good upbringing. I regret not being able to know Phil longer or better, but he had a way about him that is unforgettable.

To Phil's family and friends, be assured that I will be holding you up in prayer during this difficult time of mourning. May the Lord bless and keep you, now and always.

Phil was such as kind-hearted, sweet man. I had the pleasure of attending both high school and college with him. It was always fantastic to cross paths with him in the hallways at DGN or around campus at U of I. Every time I saw him he displayed his warming signature smile which made anyone feel special.

A few years after we graduated from college, I ran into him during a U of I Homecoming 2009 campus visit. Even though I hadn't seen him in years he took time to catch up and introduce me to Selena. After the trip, I posted pictures on Facebook and he sent a follow-up message to me and a friend to say, "Ah, saw the sweet "DGN Unite" photo posting, had to follow up on that one. U of I was ridiculous/awesome, and it was sweet runnin' into you girls!"

He had a genuine soul and will be missed. I will always remember his kind heart. My thoughts/prayers are with his family, fiancé and friends.

Sincerely,
Cynthia Edwards and Family

I first met Phil as a freshman at U of I. He is a part of some of my first - and fondest - college memories. I can't think of a time I saw him when he wasn't flashing that amazing smile. I was lucky enough to bump into Phil and Selena at a Christmas party this year. They beamed happiness and were so energetic and in love. That's how I'll always remember Phil, so full of life. My thoughts and prayers are with Selena and the Patnaude family.

I've never met Philip but felt a connection to him through his mothers eyes. Her loving description of all her children was such a wonderful testimonial to her beautiful family. My heart is with your hearts as you go through this difficult time.

Phil was a good friend of our son Andy Druetzler. We met him and Selena at several get togethers & picked him up at the airport after a ski trip with the guys. We instantly liked them both and thought what a wonderful young man and great friend for Andy to meet. We think Phil was a very special person. Andy told us he was an amazing guy. He will truly be missed. Our hearts are breaking for the family and Selena. You have been and will be in our prayers. You have our deepest sympathy.

My first memory of Phil was early last year when we started a project together. I remember how much effort he put into obtaining every detail of the pumps and strainers he was working on so the task ahead would be easier for those that followed up with other aspects of the project design.

My most recent memory was a few weeks back ; I went to see him for some project information, and he said "Oh no, not you again" I replied "Yes its nice to see you too Phil", and we all laughed.

I think these two memories define Phil for me - a man dedicated to make life better for others, and a quick smile too !

Such a Sad loss, Phil was a best friend to my daughter. And because of that I had the true pleasure and honor to have known Phil, Just enough to know that here was a very fine and good man. I highly respect Sarah's judgement in people, and this guy was high on that list. It's easy to see why if you ever met Phil. With a warm and contagious smile and personallity to go with it, he will truely be missed. Our deepest thoughts and concern go out to Phil's family, and friends, but especially to Selena. )

Phil was a very dear friend of my son, Mike Marohl. Mike had brought Phil and several other friends to a weekend retreat at our cabin in Three Lakes, WI. My family, including Mike's 80 year old grandparents, met Phil and were instantly taken with him. He was a kind, enjoyable young man. I remember that Phil and friends decided to spend one of the weekend evenings just hanging out with the elders. What a weekend it was! A fond memory of a beautiful young man. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of Phil's family and friends. Marcy Bruflat
