GEORGE C. RUBSCHLAGER

George C. Rubschlager. Visitation for George C. Rubschlager, 82, a resident of Palatine since 1956, will be held Monday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The Reverend James G. Bauman will officiate. Interment will be private. George was born Nov. 21, 1928 in Chicago, IL the son of the late George W. and Viola (Krause) Rubschlager and passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 30, 2011 at the Rosewood Care Center in Inverness, surrounded by his family. George was a WWII Army Veteran. Prior to George retiring he had worked for the Chicago Tribune as a plate maker for many years. He was then employed as a custodian for Community Consolidated School District 15 for 18 years, known as "Mr. George." He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Palatine, and a member of the church's bell choir. George graduated from Harper College in 2008 and also was a member of the college's bell choir. Beloved husband of Bette Anne (Beck) Rubschlager; loving father of Karen Baker and Matthew (Angie) Rubschlager; cherished grandfather of Sarah Baker; fond brother of Ruth Cuzman and the late Millie Harsla; dear uncle of David (Nancy) Cuzman and several other nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews survive.
