Researching for a dermotolgist, I remembered the extraordinary kindness of Dr Ackerman. I am so sorry to hear of her passing.
My newborn had been diagnosed with a rare skin condition, and while we were at the old Childrens Memorial for his monitoring, she would comfort my concerns during my appts with her. One time I even remember she wanted to hold him and feed him his bottle while we finished up my appt. She spoke adoringly of her young sons (1991 or so). Such a treasure. A great doctor. My own condition improved such, that I had no longer needed treatment. Your Grandma was truly a blessing to many.

To everyone wishing condolences to the family, thank you. Even after so long, it still makes me so happy to see people who knand apreciated her from a point of view other than mine of the upset grandchild. I was, I believe, 7, at her time of death, and hadnt seen her in several months because she didnt want me to see her when she was sick, most likely wanting my memories, despite knowing of her cancer, to be of a happy and strong woman who I could remember as a role model when I was old enough to understand what that meant. As a child, I just wanted to see my grandma, I didnt understand, and like I said, it makes me so happy, almost 7 years later, to see other peoples memories of such an amazing woman.

I don't know if it is appropriate to write a note so long after someone's passing, but I feel compelled to send this. I looked up Dr. Ackerman's listings last night to make sure her office was in the same location as the one I last visited, and was shocked to see that she passed away in 2013. I told my husband about this and told him how much I had liked her--that she and I always ended my visits talking about the good books we had read lately. I am so very sorry to learn that she is no longer with us and feel sad for her family and friends. I am sure you miss her still!

I was a 30year patient of Dr. Ackerman. As well as Dr Schwartz being my OBG. I am so, so sorry for your loss. She was a caring and personable doctor who I will miss. My sincere condolences to Dr. Schwartz and his family.

I am so shocked, and saddened, after hearing about Dr. Ackerman's death. I only had about 5 appointments with her, she was a very caring doctor,and,a great person.

I took my newborn son the multiple doctors. Your wife/mom prescribed an ointment and his problem was corrected overnight!!! I was just going to make an appointment for one of my daughters. I am deeply saddened by your loss. What a GREAT doctor!!!!! Are there ANY left like HER? Diane Madison

I just learned of Dr. Ackerman's passing. She was a wonderful Dermatologist. My disabled son was a patient of hers for a very long time. She was very kind and a caring person.

I am so sad to her about Dr Ackerman. She truly was the BEST dermatologist. She always took her time with you. Just so shocked to called her office to find out she passes away. She will be missed. sending my condolences to her family. T

I am saddened to hear of Dr. Ackerman's death. I was a trusting patient for many years when I received a letter that her office was in new hands. Her staff was always professional and my concerns were always personal during my visits. A huge loss I found out today November 08, 2013 at North Shore Dr. Wolfman's office. She will be missed. Sorry that I did not thank her personally for kindness when needed and I wish I could have said it sooner but I think Doctor's always know when they are appreciated with long term patients. She was my doctor for the last 13 years. She was very kind and helpful when other doctors did not take the time to help me. I am sorry this wondeful Doctor is no longer able to help people. I will miss her. So sorry for your loss. Deb Buchholz

I was a patient of Dr. Ackerman's. Who thought that going to a doctor for a skin check could be so much fun. Dr. Ackerman sat in the exam room and we talked like best fiends. She was a wonderful, kind and compassionate person and will truly be missed. My sincere condolences to the entire family.

When growing up in St. Louis Park, the Ackermans were next-door neighbors to the Blickers. I met Rollie when I was only seven years old. She and my sister Pam were very good friends. I was saddened to hear the news of Rollie's death and wanted to send my Condolences to the entire family. I have fun memories growing up next to Rollie. I am so happy that she and I had a wonderful re-connecting telephone conversation about 18 months ago.

To Rollie's family: I grew up with her on Quentin Ave.My mother went to North high with her mother Bea. I intern went to school with her brother Jimmy. I grew up in the Ackerman household. I deeply feel for your loss..My condolences to you all she will be missed by all. Fred Davis

Aug.6 I always told people, that one of my husband's favorite persons was his dermatologist, Dr. Rollie Ackerman.
He had been a patient in her office for many years. She was caring, always upbeat and had great patient rapport. She had helped him so much with his "bouts" of skin problems.
He passed away last October, after being diagnosed with lung cancer Sept. 19th.
My condolences to her family.

I was a patient of Dr. Ackerman's for many years and was always so fond of her. We enjoyed catching up about each other's families whenever I was there. My sincerest condolences to the entire family. She was a wonderful woman. May her memory be a blessing.

Not sure if you remember me or Susie, we are truly saddened with the passing of Rollie. Our deepest condolensces to you and your family. Rollie has and will always have a special place in our hearts. She saved my life 22yrs ago diagnosing me with melanoma. Running into her in the parking lot of Jay's camp and Rollie spotting the melanoma was the luckiest day in my life. I am forever grateful to Rollie; she is a very special woman to my family.
