I was attending the services for a family member when I heard the news of my friend " Big Dan ", from John Cook my cousin.
I worked on the repair floor at Ford in the metal repair area right across the aisle from Dan, who did brakes, for some twenty years. He is one of the few I have thought of after retirement. Dan told me his number would be in the book if I wanted to get hold of him after we retired. I looked it up and the intention was to call when I was in his the area visiting a neice. I am so sorry I didn't.
I will miss him he was a solid rock of a guy with firm opinions an convictions. He was to me a guy that cared for people but kept it in a deep pocket. A man who did his work seldom complaining even when the stress was visible and work overwhelming I'd look over from my work area and see Dan going steadily and it would inspire me to do the same.
My condolences to his wife Sharon and his children and family. Dennis Cook

To my Dearest Cousin,
I was so startled and saddened to learn of what had happened to you. Utter disbelief.
I knew with certainty that heaven was in tears.
And now that you are gone, I know there will be no more tears in heaven.
I will miss receiving your holiday cards because your penmanship was identical to my father's, your uncle. An uncanny contentment.
May we all learn from your precious experience that we must cherish the time we have together. Because tomorrow is not guaranteed.
Rest in Peace.

To Sharon,
Electronic messaging is such a poor format for this but I wanted you to know how deeply saddened I was to learn of Daniel's passing.
Normally, I would have been present at his funeral but, for medical reasons I could not attend.
Know with certainty that you remain in my heart and prayers, especially during the holiday season. May you find a way to celebrate his life.

I worked with Dan. I would always enjoy our talks. It could be about anything. I always found him to be a great listener. He was also very passionate, which is truly a gift. Prayers to his family and loved ones.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Buick Family. Mr. Buick was a very friendly and kind hearted man. We always enjoyed his light hearted sense of humor when he came into the bank. We will miss seeing him and arguing over sox vs the cubs!
