Dear "Kane Girls ". I continue to keep both your mom & dad in my thoughts and prayers and repeat my comments in this Legacy Book of ten years ago. It is hard to believe your dad ( my coach, mentor & friend ) has been gone 48 years. His belief in me as a confused lad gave me a confidence that has lasted thru out my life . I shall always be grateful for my relationship with both Virginia & Chuck .May the Lord continue to bless them and keep them.

Dear Katie, Liz, Mary and Molly,
Mariette and I were sorry to read about yout mom. I'm glad to know that her girls were nearby. It's been a lot of years, but Mariette and I still miss you all, there were lots of nice memories with your family. We still keep up with the Mussers and sometimes we look at the pictures of our dads together - the tough guys. Would love to hear from you all.847-674-6254, home number.

Dear Katie, Liz, Mary & Molly--
I am so sorry to hear the news of your mother's death, but happy to hear that she lived such a long life. I remember her fondly as a warm and welcoming presence when I went to your house, Katie, in HS and college to see you. My thoughts are with you all.

To my "Aunts",
I'm so sorry. I know you're going through an impossible time right now. I love you all very much and am thinking of you. Ginny was such an amazing wonderful woman and I was so lucky to have her in my life. I will never forget all of the holidays we spent at her house. Whether we played cards, chess, or the piano we always had fun. Ginny always remembered what was going on in my life no matter how long it had been since I saw her. I loved her very much. Hugs to all of the Kane girls. I love you.
Love, Lauren

The last time I saw Kate we were talking about her mother. We were attending our 40th reunion for Regina. Kate, I told you how envious I was that you still had your mother. Blessings to you and your sisters. She must have been quite a gal to have a grand daughter like you, Kate. Today you bury your dear mother. Tomorrow I go to Mass to remember what would have been my own dear mother's 95th. I'll be praying for both of our irreplaceable mothers. Love, prayers, and all good memories, Ginny Lombardo Arbery

To the beautiful Kane Sisters:
I am so sorry about your Mom; she was a neat and special lady and awfully nice to me, a not-so-gorgeous bathing beauty in her backyard. Is she really the last of her greatest generation? If so, I'm even sorrier.
I will think of you all often and say a little prayer for Ginny.
Love,

I also never had the pleasure of meeting Mom Kane; however all of the full-out Ginnyisms that Liz shared with me ("Honey, please call church and find out what time Midnight Mass starts") made me feel that I already knew her. Deepest sympathy to the "Kane Girls" on the loss of their mom. I have always held a special place in my heart and my prayers for Virginia who lost her wonderful and loving husband so tragically so many years ago.Her ability to carry on and continue to raise her girls without her beloved Chuck is a tribute to her selfless love and strength of character. And, now Virginia rejoins Chuck in heaven -praise the Lord; and God bless them, their daughters, grandchildren and entire extended family.

I knew Mrs. Kane my entire life and thought she was the "coolest" Mom , ever. She was so beautiful-I remember her daughters showing me her modeling photos. She was the only Mom I knew that actually worked outside the home, and in my young eyes, that made her a real hero. She took us to their house in Indiana by the lake for sleepovers and I will never forget those times. Her suffering the loss of her husband at such a young age must have been unbearable, but she took it with grace, and that is burned in my memory, too. I will be thinking of the Kane family often in the days and weeks to come and wish them condolences in this incredibly sad time in their lives.

Although I've never had the opportunity to meet "Mom Kane", I can't help but feel as though I know her from all, you Liz, have shared with me these years. She sounded like a lady of class with a dry sense of humor as well as terrific insight without flowery words. My thoughts are with you, Liz, your sisters and your entire family as you grieve but also as you celebrate Mom Kane's life. God Bless.
