JOHN MACKIEWICZ Obituary

John "Jack" William Mackiewicz, 77, died Saturday, Nov. 27 of natural causes at his home in Blair, WI; in the presence of his beloved wife of 54 years, Ruth Ann. Born June 23, 1933 in Vermillion County, IL to John J. and Veronica "Nellie" Mackiewicz, John grew up in Cicero, IL. He married Ruth Ann Huseboe on Oct. 26, 1956 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison, WI. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother, Raymond and sister, Sharon Fuller. John is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann; daughter, Janet Barcik (Chuck) of New Berlin, WI; daughter, Gail Redmond (John) of Kansas City, MO; daughter, Ellen Holder (Greg) of Overland Park, KS; daughter, Joanie Gamoke (Jason) of Winona, MN; and seven grandchildren. John attended St. Dionysius Catholic School and J. Sterling Morton East High School in Cicero. He joined the Air Force in 1951 as an Airman First Class with the 1401st Air Base Wing and was awarded three Battle Stars during the Korean War. John joined D&S Electric Supply Co. in La Crosse, WI in 1970. He rose to become President and GM, retiring in 1996. Relatives and friends are welcome at a Visitation Wednesday, Dec. 1, 4 to 7 p.m. at Jack Funeral Home, 115 West 4th St., Blair, WI. Private burial will be for immediate family only. Memorial contributions should be sent to the Humane Society.
