JAMES WINKLER Obituary

James Allen Winkler, retired attorney of Foley & Lardner, loving father, grandfather, and son, passed away Sunday, Sept. 9. Jim is survived by his devoted wife, Elizabeth; his children Berengaria (Peter), James Ragnar (Jennifer), Briana (Ruben), Tristan; his mother, Doris Jones Gabel of Newark, IL; his sisters, Janice Smith and Sharon Abrams; stepsister, Mardel Robinson; his brother, David Winkler, and four grandchildren. He was a devoted father and adored grandfather, brother, cousin and loyal friend. Visitation services will be Friday, Sept. 14, 5 to 7 p.m. at Gabel-Dunn Funeral Home, 102 S.Johnson St., Newark, IL, 60541-0623. Phone 815-695-5131. Funeral Services will be Saturday, Sept. 15, 10:30 a.m. at Plattville United Methodist Church, 13025 Church Rd., Plattville, IL. The family requests donations to The James Allen Winkler Fund at the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society, 651 W. Washington Blvd., Suite 400, Chicago, IL 60661, www.lls.org/il.
