Joel Siegel Obituary
Joel S. Siegel, 76, Beloved husband for 53 years of Evelyn nee Marks, cherished father of Sharon, dear brother of Roger (Monika), nephew of Dr. Alfred L. (Mildred) Siegel, cousin of Judith Corwin, Debra Siegel (Robert Altman) and Laurie (Joseph) Nosofsky passed away on March 12, 2013. Born and raised in Chicago, he graduated from Senn High School, the University of Michigan, and Harvard Law School. After actively serving in the Illinois National Guard, he practiced civil litigation for 41 years with the former Arvey, Hodes, Costello & Burman and Horvath & Lieber law firms. He enjoyed traveling, classical and folk music, the theatre, playing tennis, racquetball and swimming. We will miss his sense of humor, intelligence, welcoming smile and valued friendship. A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 24th at 3PM followed by a reception at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851Skokie Blvd. (at Niles Center Road), Skokie, IL 60077. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to The Joel S. Siegel Scholarship in American Culture, Regents of the University of Michigan, College of LSA Development, 3003 S.
