Also loved working with Karl during his residency when you would rotate thru Illinois Masonic. We lost a great one.

Karl and Clare were members of my Gym about 20 years ago; both were so very personable and courteous to everyone. Almost one year ago, a young gentleman joined my Gym. When signing him up in my office, I found out he was a medical student/intern, and when I ran his credit card, his last name grabbed my attention: AMBROZ. To say I got a bit emotional is an understatement. Karl's son Ryan is a mirror image of his father, and I feel blessed to have a bit of Karl's legacy around. Until we meet again Karl.

I will never forget Dr. Karl Ambroz, who was working at Resurrection ER the night my 21 year old daughter came in with Acute Appendicitis. His excellent skills as a physician saved her life. As an internist working at Resurrection Medical Center, we discussed many patients over the years. Dr. Ambroz was always kind, compassionate, friendly. The hospital lost so much when it lost Karl. I will always remember him for his kind smile, friendliness and most of all for saving my daughter. God bless you Karl in the heavenly realms!

I was going through some old ER records from 2003 and looked at the name of physician who attended the patient and yes Dr. Ambroz name was there.I realized that he passed away a few years ago and looked at google search. It is rather too late but I am here to express my heart felt condolences to his family, friends and all his patients who in some way or other have part of him in them including me in the form of memories of him and his contribution to our lives in many ways!

Clare and family,
While working at the Chicago Fire Department today, I learned from one of the Ressurection ED nurses that Karl had passed away. I worked with him when we were all still at Illinois Masonic. He was such a great guy. I am so, so sorry for your loss.

To the Ambroz Family: I was so sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved husband and father. It has been many years since I worked with Karl as a resident and a junior faculty member but I remember clearly what a shining light he was to all of us who were fortunate enough to know and work with him. He will be missed by so many of us, his professional family, but that cannot compare to the loss you are experiencing. There really are "no words" but just wanted to let you know that we loved that guy and in a small way share your loss. All My Best, Gary Strange, MD, U of I EM Residency Program

My deepest sympathies to the Ambroz family. Clare you know I've worked with Karl for 17 yrs. I remember when I use to watch Ryan at the desk while Karl finished a shift or paperwork. He wasn't just a wonderful and caring Dr, but a genuine person to know and be around. His smile was infectious no matter how bad your day was. I remember dancing with him at several parties and or weddings with staff from RMC. His passing has left a hole in my heart and in our ER department. But what I will hold dear in my heart, is his constant support in my journey to lose weight! With every pound I lost he high fived me and continued to encourage me to keep going! The first 5k I walked, he pumped me up saying "You Got This My COCo Pop!" Later that week he'd purchased me a GPS watch to track my race times, and I'll continue to wear it proudly, thinking of him with every race I run, because I know I'll carry a piece of him with me always! I'd lost 150 lbs before his passing, though I have a little more to go whenever I get discouraged I'll remember his words ( You got this my coco pop!)and I'll push a little harder!
My prayer for you and your family is that GOD keeps you as you grieve, and that Karl's memory and his love covers you always like a warm blanket on a cold winters night!
Karl may you rest in Paradise! God Bless you all.

August 26, 2014

Ambroz family,
My heart & deepest sympathies go out to you all.
I grew up in Glenview down the street from Clare and met Karl at several Rutkowski gatherings.
God Bless your family. May Karl rest in peace and may his spirit live on with you forever.

Karl was most influential in shaping the doctor I am today. Before I entered the residency, I worked with Karl as a student. I remember always wanting to make him proud of my work because he had given so much to me but the same to everyone as an educator and a friend. Thank you, Karl, for everything you had given, you will be missed dearly.

One day sickness and death will no longer take away those we love. Life, health and happiness will be restored and even the earth itself will be replenished (Isa. 35:5,6). Dr. Ambroz will get to share in that wonderful fulfillment.

The smile that he wore everywhere he went along with the visible love of life and his family were infectious and no one could interact with him without feeling better for it. The world has lost a very special person. RIP my friend.

August 20, 2014

This awful news comes as a great shock. However long he worked at RMC, I had worked with him and enjoyed his wit and sense of humor as much as I appreciated his expertise in his field of medicine. He helped many of my patients as well as members of my family over the years. My deepest sympathies to his family at this loss. The loss of a highly-regarded colleague is significant, but the loss of a truly delightful and genuinely nice guy is vastly more important. I will miss him greatly.
