My deepest sympathy to the Burgh family. Howie was such a wonderful, funloving person. He had a way about him that made you feel so special. Even though I lost touch with him over the years his Aunt Pat always kept me in the loop as to what was going on with him and his family. There's not a doubt in my mind that all who were blessed to have had Howie in their lives will feel a void for some time to come. May God comfort you all and I look forward to one day seeing Howie in heaven.

I don't know where to start as I have so many memories of growing up around Howie and all the Burgh's. Holiday parties on Suffolk Ave. as well as the traditional Halloween outings to the woods to look for "Chuck" and in later years, Chuck's girlfriend, "Charlene." I learned to play the piano at the Burgh house and still remember to this day the one and only song Howie and his brothers helped me with: Mary Had A Little Lamb. Howie was always around at all of my family's gatherings, from the funny ones where he would make fun of my older sisters' date to serious ones when he became my youngest sisters' godfather. I can't remember ever seeing Howie without a smile on his face. I can still remember Eloise and I always liked her name and thought she was beautiful; I also remember when Howie met Julie and she was so pretty and so much fun and I liked her immediately too! I always loved visiting Howie and his family and always loved the houses you lived in.

I'm sorry to have lost touch with him and the family over the years as now we only see each other, well mostly at wakes. I remember his support when my mom passed away and him telling me how much she loved me and my sister's and brother. Even after not seeing him for a few years, I know how much Howie loved his family. I wish all of you peace as you go through this difficult time and please know that I will miss Howie too.

Love, Maureen

A special friend-compassionate, fun-loving.

Fought his illness with a positive outlook, always finding humor a way to combat a situation. Remember the bombay hat and the whistle, his other get-ups, his love of Julie and sharing of all her ventures

Howie had a unique and wonderful sense of joy that he shared with everyone. Whenever Kate and I saw him, we knew we would be treated to hilarious stories, jokes and just plain fun. We miss him, but treasure our memories of nearly forty years of laughter. Thanks, Howie.
