To the Kruger family. Please accept my belated note of sympathy and condolences for Mr. Kruger's passing in 2015. I will always remember the terrific educational experience I received while attending his classes. He was also a great supporter of my baseball days at Steinmetz H.S. May he rest in peace and may his memory be forever eternal.

I am learning just now,2020, of the passing of my U. S. Army friend Sheldon Kruger. We kept in touch for years following our Army days teaching English to trainees in Puerto Rico when suddenly i stopped hearing from him. Although i assumed he had either died or suffered some life changing experience, I realize now it was the former. I am truly sorry to learn of this to my old friend but appreciate being able to bring closure to our long relationship. He was a good and honest man and led a helpful and worthwhile time among us. Rest In Peace, Sheldon. Your friend, Cornelius (Neil

He was one of my favorite teachers at Steinmetz, always looked forward to seeing him at the "Class of 1964" reunions, he often told us that it was his favorite graduating class. I remember one afternoon in Skokie at a fire incident. I was the engineer on one of the responding fire engines. Someone tapped me on the shoulder as I was attending the pump panel, it was "Mr Kruger". We talked about our experiences at Steinmetz briefly, and then I had to go. Glad that I got to see him that one last time. May he rest in peace.

Mr. Kruger was a fantastic teacher. I wish I still had my notebooks from Contemporary American History in 1964 when I learned and memorized to this date the date of all the NASA missions and names of the astronauts. He really adored Terry Hurley. Thanks Mr. Kruger for a wonderful educational experience at Steinmetz!

Mr. Kruger was my division teacher at Steinmetz High School. Every year his holiday card was the first I received. He was a very special man and I will miss our 51 year holiday communication.

Back in the early 60s Mr. Kruger was my Ancient History teacher. He was the 1st teacher that ever made history interesting for me. He had a calm demeanor and resonated a caring spirit. We kept in touch all these years. I've always considered him my favorite and best teacher. My heartfelt sympathy goes to his family. He was a fine person and a great teacher and will be missed. R.I.P.
Sincerely,
Phyllis Sheffer Kohnke, Class of January, 1964

Mr. Kruger used to come to the library on Tuesday mornings to do research. He always stopped at the reference desk for a friendly visit with the librarians. I looked forward to those visits and will miss him. Sending my condolences to his family.

If this is the well known and well liked Mr. Kruger from Steinmetz High, please let his loved ones know that he was a fine teacher and a true guiding light for his students. He had a way of taming wild ones like myself, who thought high school was a waste of time. I had a great deal of respect for him then and in my later life. I thought his family would appreciate knowing it.

Please accept my condolences. Mr. Kruger was my teacher at Steinmetz who still kept in touch with holiday cards. He loved tennis and WWII nostalgia. I'll always remember how he loved teaching American History. He will be missed.
