Thinking about you so much lately, Mom. So many changes in our family: two great grandchildren, your grandchildren progressing in their individual adult lives successfully. Yes, I've been thru many changes also since your passing. I've learned more patience during the changes in the world and looked to your example as to handle physical hardships with grace. You would be so proud of Horace. He's stood by my side and helped me to accomplish the many hard tasks I've had to complete this past year as always. He is indeed a great blessing to our family. Missing you & Dad.

Mom was involved in many activities both church & school thru out her life--
Church pianist & organist
Wrote music including an original song
Created & led pre-teen church youth choir & group
Bible school teacher
Room mother @ school
Sewed Letterette uniforms @ Edna Hill
Worked retail & later became a notary
I was amazed @ her memorial at how many people came up to me and told me she was their best friend. She touched so many lives both young & old. She always had words of encouragement & always had time to 'just talk'. During her illness over the past several months, I began to understand what it was going to be like to miss her as she was starting to have problems w/her hearing due to the chemo & radiation & could not last on the phone like she would always do before. It was not unusual for her to spend an hour plus on the phone w/me. Longer if I was actually having a problem!
I MISS YOU MOM

My Grandma known as Mehmeh, who provided much love, guidance and wisdom to her granddaughter when she needed it most. Mehmeh always knew what to say in times of need, sometimes without even knowing it. We where ALL so important to her. I will never forget what she told me when her battle with cancer began; "Dana, if I beat this I get to spend more time with my family, but if god takes me, I get to go to Heaven. So, I win either way!"
I LOVE YOU MEHMEH!!!

No one can ever replace the specialness of a mother in your heart--especially when she devoted her life to the entire wellbeing, both physically & spiritually, to my sister & I. The sacrifices, joy, concern, and total involvement she made can never be repaid only honored & returned in kind to our own children. Her grandchildren were her special joy--all boys, Nick & Christian of Antioch, Charlie of Roseville, Gary Jr. of WA; & a special blessing, one granddaughter, Dana of Roseville. Her life was constantly filled by the love of serving God thru her music which she shared & taught wherever she went. I was grateful to be by her side thru her last days & felt it an honor not only to have her as my mother but also as my best friend. I knew I had indeed been blessed to have her as a teacher, mentor, & example of womanhood & motherhood. I mourn the loss of her presence but look forward to our reunion as I have no doubt that she already has a new song.
By the way, even tho Eula was born in Antioch she was a Brentwood resident for the majority of her life.

My sister and friend.
My prayer partner
One who made me laugh, shared funny moments, and jokes.
Taught me music, the things of God, and His Holy Word.
You took me to Vacation Bible School when I was 10 years old and there I realized that I needed the Lord.
The Mouthpiece and Servant of the Lord who dwelt in the House of the Lord and was furnished unto good works.
I will see you again...via the resurection/Rapture...that blessed event and looking for the blessed Hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
